FOOD PRODUCING ANIMAL SERVICES

We maintain four large animal mobile clinics to meet the veterinary needs of food producing animals. We offer general medical and surgical services as well as reproductive, herd health, and herd nutrition consultations. Ultrasonography and mobile radiography are also available. Through our in-house lab and use of referral laboratories, comprehensive diagnostic services are also available.

EQUINE SERVICES

Our equine veterinarians work to advance the health of our equine patients through preventive healthcare, dentistry, general medical and surgical services, reproduction medicine, endoscopy, mobile radiography therapeutic and diagnostic ultrasonography.  Through our in-house lab and use of referral laboratories, comprehensive diagnostic services are also available.

EMERGENCY SERVICES

We provide 24-hour, 7-day a week emergency care for food animal equine patients. By calling and leaving a message with the answering service, our veterinarian on-call will be contacted immediately and will return your call promptly.

Because of the complex and serious nature of emergency and critical care veterinary medicine, our after-hours companion animal calls are sent to one of the two emergency clinics in Ottawa. Should you have an emergency, please call either Alta Vista Animal Hospital or The Ottawa Veterinary Hospital. We cannot give medical advice or diagnoses over the phone or through e-mail.  In order to give you and your pet the appropriate care, we must examine your animal before we can accurately give a diagnosis or advice. For more information about pet emergencies, please visit the First Aid and Emergency Care reference guide.
